    Dear Donatus…

“This seems a cheerful world, Donatus, when I view it from this fair garden, under the shadow of these vines. But if I climbed some great mountain and looked out over the wide lands, you know very well what I would see–brigands on the high roads, pirates on the seas; in the amphitheaters men murdered […]

    Remembering

Check out the list of Memorial Day Observances and Articles listed on Wizbang Blog…
… but you really need to read this post in The Sandbox from a rather new blogger and Air Force Officer Candidate on Why I Fight.
And, not necessarily Memorial Day related, there are several great posts over at The Rebelution that would […]

You Shall Go Out With Joy

    Isaiah 55:12
You shall go out with joy
And be led forth with peace
And the mountains and the hills
    Will break forth before you
    There’ll be shouts of joy
And all the trees of the fields
Will clap, will clap their hands
And all the trees of the fields
    will clap their hands
The trees of the fields will clap their hands
    The trees […]

    Praise

    Praise You in this Storm
On the album Lifesong, Casting Crowns sings this powerful song. It always makes me want to spend time in reflection and prayer:
    I was sure by now
God, You would have reached down
    And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say “Amen”
    and it’s still raining
    As the thunder rolls
    I […]

    Surgery Done!

3:40 PM - We are paged to Conference Room C.
Dr. John Dietz came in, said they were all done and everything went very good! Praise the Lord! They had a hard time reaching some of the areas due to the position and the scar tissue from last year’s surgery, but were able to remove a […]

1:24 PM - We finally asked for an update and they finished with the front incision and work and just started on his back about an hour ago. They told us before that when they started on his back, it would take about 6 hours.

    still waiting…

12:08 PM - and…we are… still waiting. We figured we’d have at least a progress report on the surgery, but nothing yet. The reason Greg is having this surgery is due to a disease called AS, or Ankylosing spondylitis. Read about it HERE….

It’s a long walk around this hospital! But the weather is nice - almost 72 F and sunny. The grass is mown nicely around the buildings, and there are lots of roses and flowers. Some guy who had seen me upstairs in the waiting room was down by the front entrance when I came back […]
